About Hyperion

Hyperion is a 156-foot sailing yacht from Royal Huisman, designed by German Frers and refitted in 2023, with three cabins for six guests, a crew of eight and a piano in the salon.

Royal Huisman built Hyperion in 1998 to a design by German Frers, and a 2023 refit keeps her current. At 156 feet she is a large sailing yacht by any measure, with a draft of 15 feet. A new MTU engine, fitted in 2013, provides power when the wind drops, and the yacht reaches 10 knots. The yacht is built for people who want to feel the sailing underway, with a crew of eight who know the work.

Life aboard centers on the deck. A broad foredeck has a bimini and sunbeds and can be cleared for sunset gatherings or yoga. Aft, a large dining table sits under a second bimini, beside a swim platform extension with a ladder and storage for the toys. Below, a pilothouse and spacious salon lead to a master cabin with its own office and relaxation area. The salon also holds a 200-bottle temperature-controlled wine cooler and a piano.

The toy list is long: two Seabobs, two e-foils, two paddleboards, water skis, wakeboards, a kids’ tube and towables, plus fins, masks, wetsuits and rash vests. A floating dock acts as a sunbathing and watersports platform. Two tenders are carried, a custom 18-foot McMullen and Wing with a 165-horsepower diesel and a Zodiac inflatable with a Yamaha outboard. Together they give guests a full day of swimming and play.

Best For

Hyperion is for experienced sailors and for guests who want a sailing yacht with real scale: a crew of eight with deep naval and sailing experience, a big deck for sunsets and swims, and a salon with character. It fits a group of up to six that wants to sail, not simply motor. Ask us about the refit and how she sails in different conditions.

Winter

Weekly rates are in US dollars, converted from euro at the European Central Bank rate of October 20, 2026 and rounded to the nearest $5,000. The rate covers the yacht and crew. Running costs such as fuel, food, drinks and berthing are paid from an advance provisioning allowance, usually 30 to 35 percent of the rate, with any unspent balance returned. VAT depends on the cruising area, delivery fees apply only if the yacht must reposition, and crew gratuity is at your discretion. Rates are confirmed at booking.

Guest Accommodations

Three cabins accommodate six guests. The master cabin includes an office area and a relaxation area, and each guest cabin has ample storage and an entertainment system.
